HubSpot Motion Design Group
Before moving into creative direction, I led motion design at HubSpot. This involves heading up a group of awesome motion designers who brought HubSpot’s brand to life through thoughtful design and movement. The team focused on creating consistency and vision for motion design projects at HubSpot.
We met weekly to offer feedback, brainstorm our next big idea, and meet with external leaders for inspiration. The result? Every member of the motion design group was promoted in the first year of the group’s inception. Even better, you could actually feel the perception towards motion (and video as a whole) shift with our increased advocacy. People began seeking us out for ideas and direction, instead of asking us to come in at the 11th hour to make a static design wiggle. Motion began to have a voice in the creative team, and people quickly realized how important it was in defining HubSpot’s brand.
